Since 2006, we have reached over 150,000 attendees on critical issues — mental health, digital media, substance use, and more — that impact the health and well-being of children and teens.

New Collaborative Partnership: Empowering Parents With Parent Venture!
MILL VALLEY, CA – November 2024—Mill Valley School District's learning community is dedicated to developing globally minded, compassionate, resilient, and courageous students who can develop the knowledge and character to lead change in their world. Together with our parent and community partners at It Takes A Village and all of the MVSD PTAs, we work continuously to prepare our students to be responsible, contributing community members, wise stewards of our natural environment, and to thrive as global citizens in a rapidly changing world.
Our district always strives to find ways for students and their families to grow, whether in education or character. With that in mind, we are proud to announce our newest partnership with Parent Venture, a leading provider of inclusive, high-quality parent and community education. Funded by It Takes A Village (the Special Education PTA of the Mill Valley School District), with the full support of the staff and administration of the Mill Valley School District as well as the Mill Valley Council of PTAs, Parent Venture will provide families valuable tools that will positively impact student success, safety, and well-being.
The Parent Venture program hosts virtual events and shares resources through informative and inspirational e-newsletters, a robust video library of pre-recorded presentations on a wide variety of topics relevant to parents of all age groups, and curated articles from child development and parent education experts. Other initiatives provided by Parent Venture include a Neurodiversity Speaker Series, which provides parents and guardians with valuable insights and tools to better support and connect with neurodivergent learners, including children and students with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, and more conditions. Programs such as this seek to foster understanding, empathy, and inclusion by equipping families and community members with the knowledge and resources they need to create welcoming, inclusive, environments in their homes and communities. They also provide media resources, some examples include videos such as Why Joy Matters, How to Choose Joy Every Day, How to Be Your Child’s Favorite Conversation Partner, ****and How to Navigate Life: The New Science of Finding Your Way in School, Career, and Beyond (videos about similar topics can be found here on their website).
