PARENTS UNDER PRESSURE
This event is part of our new Parents Under Pressure Series. In response to the recent NY Times article from former Surgeon General Vivek Murthy -- Parents Are At Their Wits' End: We Can Do Better -- The Parent Venture is committed to providing programming that supports parents, caregivers, and educators.
EVENT DESCRIPTION
In today’s fast-paced world, stress and anxiety have become a constant presence in young people’s lives.
In Under Pressure: Confronting the Epidemic of Stress and Anxiety, Lisa Damour, PhD, will explain the difference between productive and overwhelming stress, how anxiety can sometimes be a useful signal, and when it becomes a concern.
Dr. Damour will also share practical, research-based strategies that families can use to help children and teens build resilience, regain a sense of control, and navigate challenges with confidence.
Lisa Damour, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and the author of three New York Times best sellers: Untangled, Under Pressure, and *The Emotional Lives of Teenagers.* She co-hosts the Ask Lisa podcast, works with UNICEF, and is recognized as a thought leader by the APA.
Parents/caregivers, students, educators, health professionals, and community members welcome! Simultaneous Spanish interpretation will be available. Free admission.
