It Takes a Village cultivates community and education for Mill Valley parents, especially those with students needing extra support. ITAV curates the Mill Valley PTA Speaker Series as well as monthly parent hikes and coffees.

ITAV is a district-wide Parent Teacher Association lead by parent representatives from every school, teachers, administrators and special support representatives.

The organization was founded in 2005 with the goal of providing:

Parent education
Community building through peer parent support
Opportunities for children with special needs to connect
Support for social and educational initiatives
